Both can be played at once, or alternatively, just the melody line is played. -Actual notes played are written below tablature in lower case. **Chords written such as D/F# indicate the chord to be played, followed by the accompanying bass note (in this case, a D chord with an F# bass note). The bass note doesn't have to be played, however, and the chord can just be played on its own. ***Throughout the song, a bass run occurs, corresponding with the melody. This is shown in the tablature below, with corresponding lyrics: G C G E----------------------------------------------------------------- B----------------------------------------------------------------- G----------------------------------------------------------------- D----------------------------------------------------------------- A-------0--2----3--------------------3----2----0------------------ E--3-----------------------------------------------3-------------- g a b c c b a g ->"Make up your mind (love life) in your own time (love life) to live is to live (love life) to love is sub-lime (love life)" ->"Peo- ple give thanks (love life) peo -ple re -joice (love life) Gi -ven the chance (love life) gi -ven the choice(love life)" Tab notes: -Chords are shown above tablature. -Actual notes played are shown in lower case below tablature. -The lyrics, shown below tablature, correspond directly to each note shown above. ****Stig's solo (tab): C G E------------------------------------------------- B---(3)~5~3-----------(3)~5~3--------------------- G------------5^4^5--------------5^4--------------- D------------------------------------5------------ A------------------------------------------------- E------------------------------------------------- e d c b c e d c b g C G E------------------------------------------------- B---(3)~5--(3)~5--3----(3)~5~3---(3)~5~3---------- G------------------------------------------------- D------------------------------------------------- A------------------------------------------------- E------------------------------------------------- e e d e d e d [Alternative fingering]: C G E------------------------------------------------- B------------------------------------------------- G---(7)~9~7--5^4^5----(7)~9~7--5^4---------------- D-----------------------------------5------------- A------------------------------------------------- E------------------------------------------------- e d c b c e d c b g C G E------------------------------------------------- B------------------------------------------------- G---(7)~9--(7)~9--7----(7)~9~7--(7)~9~7----------- D------------------------------------------------- A------------------------------------------------- E------------------------------------------------- e e d e d e d Tab notes: -The actual notes played are written in lower case below the tablature. -"^" indicates a pull off if the notes are descending, and a hammer on if the notes are ascending. -"~" indicates string bending. In situations such as (3)~5~3 the number in parentheses is fretted but the string is bent up to the next note indicated (in this case, for the 5th fret), and then allowing the string to return to the original fretted note (in this case, 3rd fret). (ie. effectively, you only hear the second and third notes written, but to get the bending effect,it is fretted on the first note indicated in parentheses). -Alternative fingering has been given for the simple reason that I find it easier to string bend on the G string! -If string bending is a problem, ignore the first note written in parentheses, and just do a pull off from the second note to the third note (eg. in the case of (3)~5~3 -> pull off from the 5th fret to the 3rd fret. In the case of (3)~5 -> just play the note on the 5th fret.) *****Although the music in the backround changes the feel of the chords in the repeating ending, a G chord is still played in the background.
